Parent Teacher Interviews

Hello,

There are parent teacher interviews Thursday, March 29th 6 - 8 and Friday morning from 9-11.

We have started a new unit on poetry. There is a major assignment due Tuesday, April 10th. This is a poetry anthology and will be a collection of 20 poems with specific instructions for each. This term there will also be a 2500 word journal, and four independent novels with reading reflections. I will update other assignments as they come due. There is time to work on this in class however, most students will need to read at home and some may need to write in their journals as well. This is a longer term as is worth more in the overall mark. Please ask your student about their assignments to be sure they are indeed working on these.

Assignments Due

Hello,

This has been  a very short term, midterms begin this week.  Grade 10 English will have a test on Friday, it will include a cover letter for a job application and also questions from the book that students read for their book club.

The usual end of term assignments are due on Wed. March 21st and includes two reading responses of books that students have read, 2500 words in the journal and also the project that students have chosen for their book clubs. 

Each day students have time for reading, journal entries and time in class to work on book club assignments (other than the final project) and other writing activities.  Some students may find that they are not able to complete this in class and might need to work a bit at home.  If you have any questions about this please email me.
